What: Family history activities and classes for all ages

Whether you are a lean, mean genealogical machine or a beginner trying to fill
out your first family tree, we invite you to:

• Consult with experienced family history experts.
• Help a relative or neighbor record an oral history.
• Help digitize public records in as part of an "indexing" challenge.
• Win a prize for sharing your best ancestor story in our storytelling contest.
• Help a child become a "family history sleuth" through interactive games.
• Take a free class on researching early Virginia records; preparing to use the Library of Congress for family history research; searching for African American records; and building intentional family culture in your home.
• Enjoy family recipes and ideas on how to pass on family traditions and culture through food.
